What is the MH CET?

Do you aspire to get into Maharashtra’s premier MBA Colleges? Then the MH CET is the examination you need to ace! The MH CET is a statewide examination conducted by the DTE  (Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra) every year.  Cracking this examination is the key to securing your admission in any of  Maharashtra’s 350+ colleges.

Examination Profile of the MH CET

  • The exam has 200 questions which are in the MCQ format.
  • It is an online examination lasting for 2.5 hours.
  • The exam comprises of 200 questions divided in to 3 sections. 
  • There is no negative marking in the grading system.
  • The registration fee for MH CET is Rs 800/- for applicants from the state of Maharashtra.
  • For applicants who are from outside the state of Maharashtra, the registration fee is Rs 1000/-. 

By acing the MH-CET, you can look to secure admission into Maharasthra’s top MBA Schools such as JBIMS, NL Dalmiya, DSIMS, PUMBA, SIMSREE, KJ Somaiya and so on. 

So, what are my chances?

Around 20 to 35 % seats are alloted to All India Candidates who appear for the MH CET Examination, in addition to which 15% seats of Maharashtra’s top MBA colleges are reserved for All India category candidates. 

More than 1 lakh students appear for this examionation every single year, but the number of seats available are only around 34,600,this makes it an extremely competitive examination. The year on year increase in applicants only makes it more difficult! hence this is an examination demanding rigorous preparation.

While applying one must be aware that only a handful of colleges accept CET as a valid admission criteria. There are only 325 MMS Colleges Accept CET as a criterion for admission to their institutions. Here is a list of colleges who do:
