IMS for CAT

Even as a test series student, the Application Builder Question Bank gave me access to a large variety of questions. I also found the SimCATs very helpful, especially the VARC sections, which were very close to CAT 2018 and 2017. The take home SimCATs were quite challenging, specifically the Quant section, and that proved to be a good practice before the actual CAT 2018 (which had a difficult Quant section). Appearing for the IMS Pre-CAT also helped, since I got an exposure to the actual CAT interface before appearing for CAT18. The GD WAT handbook had consolidated all the major current events, and this helped me get a good introduction to various topics, before moving on to reading articles and editorials. The various sessions held during the National Achiever's Workshop gave a great overview of basic principles to keep in mind before an interview or group discussion and an introduction to the fields of economics, operations, marketing, HR and finance. I registered for the CAT Test Series - e-Test Series Plus as preparation for CAT-2018. I found the difficulty of the IMS mock tests to be on the level of the actual CAT exam, especially the Quant section. I had also registered for the Test Series for CAT-2017, and to my pleasant surprise, the assessment this time around was far more detailed and helpful. I thank the entire IMS team for their continuous efforts, as I owe a large part of my success to IMS.

I secured a 99.9%ile in CAT 2018, with 99.88 (VARC), 97.9(DILR) & 99.79 (QA). My approach to the paper was one recommended by various seniors. Absolute concept clarity was the core objective, complemented by consistent and dedicated mock test taking and analysis. I was a student of the IMS E-Test Series Plus & would like to take this opportunity to thank IMS for the wonderful level of mocks they had set. Initially, there were objections raised as to the difficulty of IMS mocks being higher than the other institutes and previous year CAT papers. But after I appeared for CAT 2018, I realised the foresight of IMS test makers in accounting for the unpredictability of CAT. The rigorous mocks put me in good stead to face a considerably tougher QA section in CAT 2018.
