KYC: Know Your Classes is a new series by Studysid where we explore the coaching classes that have made a mark in the entrance exam ecosystem. One such class is IMFS. They have a presence in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Bangalore, Manipal, and Vadodara. They have a highly qualified team of teachers led by the famous K. P. Singh, affectionately called K. P. Sir by his students.
Why IMFS?
IMFS or The Institute of Management & Foreign Studies was founded in 1997, to provide students the option of studying at the best of institutions abroad. They help students explore opportunities globally – like in America, Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Ireland, and Europe.
IMFS is one of the earliest institutions in the nation to start professional coaching for the GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS & PTE. Since its inception, it has helped numerous students to achieve their global education dreams. In the year 2000, IMFS helped the first Indian student to get the rare distinction of a ‘Full Score’ in GRE. Since then, eight of their students have managed to repeat this feat. This makes IMFS one of the very few coaching classes globally that can boast to have achieved this. They have managed to do well in GMAT as well, with their students securing scores in the high 700 regularly. IMFS was also awarded the Best Overseas Education Consultancy in Mumbai, which was presented by Hon’ Member of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor.
More about IMFS
They provide personalized guidance and a holistic learning environment. They nurture students over almost 6 months of training. The classroom contact program helps students understand the test, learn the basics, and understand the theory. Students are introduced to competitive examinations through simulated test scenarios and multiple mock tests. The faculty also engages the students in discussions regularly. They do this to make things more interactive. Also for deeper insights into the student’s mind.
Students Speak
The real measure of any coaching class is not what others draw from observation but what their students have to say from firsthand experience. Hear what they have to say…
Priyal Newalkar, currently studying at the University of Minnesota, said, “I had taken admission at IMFS for GRE coaching and counselling in 2014 itself. The fun-filled lectures with suitable timings and such wonderful professors had already won my heart. Due to some change of plans, I decided to apply for Fall-2017 and not soon in 2015. Even after starting the counselling sessions after such a huge gap, the process was indeed very smooth. I was not even aware of some of the universities he suggested which were well ranked and had an appropriate course structure as per my requirements. It is because of him that I am going to graduate from such an esteemed university. I am thankful to not only K.P. Singh sir but also his co-operative staff for helping me take the first and most important step towards achieving my dreams!”
“I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have without this helping environment. I am very grateful to the entire team of IMFS for helping me fulfil my dream of studying in a well-renowned institution. Special Thanks to Mr. K.P. Singh Sir for his humorous but resourceful teaching. It has been an honour to study under the guidance of such a wise man,” said Bhavesh P Motwani, a student at the University of Southern California, who scored a 320 in GRE with aid from IMFS.
Another interesting piece that came across us was a letter. A letter by Sumeet Nayak, a Ph.D. student.
Excerpts from the letter…
Dear K.P. Sir,
Genetics Society of America (GSA) has appointed me as the co-chair of the Communication and Scientific Outreach subcommittee. I would now have the opportunity to bridge the gap between Scientists and the common people here in the USA and get a chance to influence young minds to pursue higher education in Science. This is my 3rd year here in Massachusetts and getting such an opportunity while doing my Ph.D. is all because of all your blessings and the efforts IMFS took to fulfil my dream. Thank you so much, Sir.
