Introduction to CET in Bandra
CET is an abbreviation for Common Entrance Test. CET is a computer-based entrance test.
MHT CET (MH CET) or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell in Mumbai for admissions to first year Engineering and Technology programmes (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy programmes (BPharma/PharmaD) in the state. Till 2018, the exam used to be conducted by DTE, Maharashtra.From 2018, MHT CET was mandatory for admissions in Maharashtra.
CET is a state-specific entrance test and hence not applicable all over India. However, a student from another state can appear for a CET test that is conducted in the state of Maharashtra in order to get admission in an institute that is located in Maharashtra.
What is the paper pattern of CET?
CET is an online MCQ based entrance exam. CET comprises of 200 questions that are divided into 4 parts:
Logical Reasoning which contains 75 questions of 1 mark each.
Abstract Reasoning which Contains 25 questions of 1 mark each.
Quantitative Aptitude which Contains 50 questions of 1 mark each.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehensions which Contains 50 questions of 1 mark each.
There is no negative marking in CET exams.
The CET Examination is conducted in English.
CET Exam Duration consists of Paper I and II of 2 hours 30 minutes each, i.e.150 minutes each.
How much percentage is required for appearing for CET?
You may apply for Maharastra CET exam in Bandra. The basic eligibility criteria for CET is Candidates must have a bachelors' degree in any discipline from any recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks, and at least 45% in case of SC/ST candidates.
How many attempts are there in MH CET?
You can only attempt MHT-CET in Bandra for 3 times.
What are the fees for CET exam?
Open category candidates need to pay Rs. 1000 as the exam fee for CET. Candidates from reserved categories will have to pay Rs. 800 as the fee for CET in Bandra.
What is the minimum cut off for MHCET?
MHT CET Cut off is segregated by category and institute. Candidates who make it to the MHT CET Cut off 2019 will be allowed to sit in the counselling session for seat allotment. The MHT CET Cut off score depends on various factors like the total number of applicants, availability of seats, the difficulty level of examination etc.On the basis of MHT CET cutoff, the merit list of candidates who have qualified the CET examination will be prepared. The MHT CET cutoff marks vary category wise. On the basis of the cutoff rank , nearly 350 participating institutes will offer admission to various B.Tech courses in the state of Maharashtra.
What is the eligibility of appearing for CET?
Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State are eligible for CET. Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra is also eligible for CET.
