    GATE 2020 Eligibility:

    An essential thing to go over before registering for the GATE 2020 Exam is the eligibility criteria. There are multiple GATE papers and the eligibility criteria for different streams is different.

    General Eligibility Criteria:

    Nationality Candidates of Indian nationality will be eligible to appear for GATE 2020.
    Candidates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) are also eligible to attempt GATE 2020.
    Academic Qualification Candidates must have passed graduation in engineering/technology or Master’s degree in any relevant science subject.
    Age Limit There is no age limit for GATE 2020
    Paper Wise Eligibility Criteria:
    Qualifying Degree Qualifying Degree/ Examination (Descriptive)
    B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Pharm. 4 years after 10+2 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/.
    OR
    3 years after B.Sc./ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology and those who are in the final year of these programmes
    B.Arch 5 years Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
    B.Sc.(Research)/ B.S 4 years after 10+2 Bachelor's degree in Science
    OR
    Post Diploma in Science
    M.Sc./ M.A./ MCA or equivalent Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent
    Int. M.E/ M.Tech (Post B.Sc.) Post- B.Sc.Integrated Master’s degree programme in Engineering/ Technology (Four year programme)
    Int. M.E./ M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2) Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology (Five year programme)
    Int. M. Sc/ Int. B.S.-M.S. Integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B.S.-M.S. programme
    Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch.) B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/ UPSC/ AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India)

    Completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses NA
    GATE 2020 Documents Required:
    • Scanned photograph and signature
    • Valid Photo ID (For Indian Candidates): Aadhaar Card or Passport or Driving License or PAN Card or Voter ID or College ID or Employee Identification Card or Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address)
    • Valid Photo ID (For Foreign Candidates): Aadhaar Passport or Govt. Issued ID or College ID or Employee ID
    • Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate
    • Copy of 5th /6th /7th semester Mark Sheet
    • Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept
    • GATE 2020 Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
    • Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable)
    • GATE 2020 Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate
    • GATE 2020 Candidates with backlogs need to upload a copy of the mark sheet of the final year issued by the current institute
