Endowed with a gift of good academic career, C. S. Deshpande completed his Inter Science Examination in 1950 from Willingdon College, Sangli with a spectacular performance by standing FIRST in the University, winning all the University prizes and scholarships in all the subjects and creating records in Mathematics and in Aggregate total marks. (The 2nd rank student was behind him by as many as 70 marks i.e. by 10%). After completing his B.E. (Electronics and Telecom.) from the College of Engineering, Pune, he joined the prestigious T.I.F.R. (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) in 1954 as a research scholar in Nuclear Particle Accelerator Section. His name was specially recommended by his principal to Dr. Homi J Bhabha, the noted scientist and the founder of TIFR In the following year, he appeared at the I.E.S. ( Indian Engineering Services) Examination and secured the top rank in this All India Competitive examination. He was posted in the I.R.S.E. (Indian Railway). For over 5 decades Vidyalankar has been a guiding light and an inspiration. It has been churning students to reach new heights. The Vidyalankar logo is an essential part of not only the institution but also the students’ who have put their trust in this institution.Since its inception in 1960, the Vidyalankar logo has been the guide to motivation and a symbol to look forward to every new day. Vidyalankar’s aim has always been to be the best in the field of education and to match international standards and the logo is an extension of our aim. The red colour in the logo depicts the zest to meet challenges head-on and overcome the obstacles in our way. Vidyalankar continuously aims to be the leaders in the field of education. The red circle depicts a “rising sunâ€, marking a new era in the field of education. It also symbolizes a guiding light to its students.
Apart from providing opportunities in PSUs and higher education, GATE preparation sharpens ones overall Engineering Aptitude which helps in campus placements too. To get a rank in the top 100, one must be consistent in theirpreparation. I trusted Vidyalankar for my GATE preparation. I solved the past 20 years GATE papers and all Full Length Tests provided by Vidyalankar. Doing this has enabled me to secure a high rank.
I chose GATE because I wanted to pursue research and develop something for our country. I started preparing for GATE in the 5th semester and also studied in the preparation leave. I chose to take GATE because I wanted to get into PSUs. I am very grateful to Vidyalankar’s faculty who promptly resolved all my queries and taught me that accuracy matters over speed. By never missing a single class at Vidyalankar, I was eventually able to solve 100 problems a day and score high marks at GATE!
