CAT results are announced on the first week of January. For CAT 2018 the results were announced on 5th January 2019. It is published in the form of scorecard and can be accessed by candidates from official website iimcat.ac.in. B schools across the country, short lists candidates for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds based on their percentile along with other factors like 10th grade, 12th grade, work experience, extracurricular activities etc. Currently the CAT score is valid for one year. There is no prescribed score to pass CAT. It is a relative measure of your performance when compared with others.
Approximately 10 Lakh Students Appear for the GATE examination each year. Out of which, on an average only 12-17% students who attempt the GATE exam pass. Candidates who are among the top rankers (AIR 200 and less) have an opportunity to get direct admissions to the IISc and IITs. GATE Scores from 600 to 800 stand a chance of a call to these institutes depending upon the discipline applied to.
CAT is not a sole exam for getting into MBA institutes. There are various other alternatives to get into good management institutes. There are some institutes which conducts the entrance test of its own. XAT, NMAT, SNAP, MAT, IIFT, MAH-CET, ATMA, etc are some of the entrance tests conducted by different top management institutes in India.
These exams are similar to CAT however the portion may vary from one exam to another. Some entrance also include General knowledge as a parameter to test the candidate’s awareness. Apart from this, the two primary entrance exams for MBA in foreign countries are GRE and GMAT. These exams too are more or less similar to CAT but it also places emphasis on your command over english language. TOEFL and IELTS are language proficiency exams that are accepted by top international business schools across the world. Here is a list of few exams and their exam dates-

The official registration procedure for CAT 2019 commenced from August 5,2019 onwards. CAT 2019 is expected to be held on 24th November, 2019 conducted by IIM Kozhikode. Like CAT 2018, the registration fee for CAT 2019 will be ₹2000 for general category and ₹1000 for reserved category.
