Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is an exam conducted by IISC and 7 of the IITs for admission of students for masters and direct doctoral programs in Engineering\/Technology\/Architecture\/relevant branches in science and the GATE score is used for the recruitment process of PSU\u2019s. Timeline<\/b><\/p>\n

This time around exam is scheduled for the dates of <\/span>February 1, 2, 8 and 9<\/b>. It will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted by IIT Delhi. Registrations for this exam will start from <\/span>3<\/b>rd<\/b> September 2019<\/b> and the last dance of the registration of the exam would be <\/span>24<\/b>th<\/b> September 2019<\/b>. After giving the exam the most awaited event results declaration so the result would be announced on <\/span>16<\/b>th<\/b> March 2020<\/b>. Syllabus<\/b><\/p>\n

The Gate syllabus is different for different branches, as GATE checks the knowledge of what a student has learnt in the entire engineering course. So one needs to be thorough with whatever is being taught in the classes and frankly speaking ahead of what\u2019s being taught in the classes because GATE asks for something more than the usual. So get yourself prepared accordingly because it won\u2019t be a simple cakewalk for sure. These section questions are asked in two types of question forms:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. MCQ\u2019s:<\/b> One right answer out of four given choices. There is negative marking of 1\/3<\/span>rd<\/span> of the marks allotted to each MCQ question i.e. 0.33 for 1 mark question and 0.66 for every 2 mark question.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Numerical Type:<\/b> The Answer is a real number which is to be entered via mouse or virtual keyboard. There is no negative marking for these type of questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
