{"id":493,"date":"2019-06-15T13:10:39","date_gmt":"2019-06-15T13:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/studysid.com\/blog\/?p=493"},"modified":"2019-06-15T13:10:39","modified_gmt":"2019-06-15T13:10:39","slug":"what-is-mh-cet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/studysid.com\/blog\/what-is-mh-cet\/","title":{"rendered":"What is MH-CET"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MH-CET for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is an examination that is conducted at state-level for admission into Engineering and other Health Sciences courses in the state of Maharashtra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MH CET-2019 is scheduled for dates ranging from May 2nd to May 13th, 2019. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This examination is conducted in online mode. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Pre-Requisites:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The application fee for general category is INR 800 while that for reserved category is INR 600.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The exam will be conducted at 36 exam centers in Maharashtra. Candidates can choose their preferred exam centers while registering for the exam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> MH CET 2019 comprises 3 papers. These are MCQ-based and the duration is 90 minutes for each.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Paper 1 is conducted for Mathematics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Paper 2 is conducted for Physics and Chemistry, while Paper 3 consists of Zoology and Botany.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Before applying for the examination, candidates should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria for applying to MH CET which is as follows:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Eligibility criteria:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Directorate of Technical Education also known as DTE of Maharashtra defines the eligibility conditions for candidates appearing in MH CET as follows,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs per the DTE of Maharashtra, 85% of the seats in private unaided engineering colleges in Maharashtra will be filled through MH CET, while the remaining 15% seats will be filled\/reserved for All India Quota based on the MH CET.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>What are the changes introduced to this examination in 2019?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Earlier MH CET was entirely on Class 12 syllabus of HSC Board of Maharashtra. Now the students will have to study Class 11 syllabus as well which increases the syllabus into a broader level.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In MH CET Syllabus 2019, 20% weightage is given to class 11th standard syllabus and the remaining 80% importance is given to class 12th standard syllabus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The level of difficulty of MH CET 2019 will be raised and be almost equal to JEE Main in terms of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and NEET for Biology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The approximate number of questions based on the 11th standard will be 10 and 40 from class 12.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The questions will be application based.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In MH CET 2019, questions will not be asked from the chapter on complex numbers of Class 11.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In summary the basic eligibility for MH CET is that candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board or equivalent. The separate eligibility conditions for all the courses have been mentioned below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong> FOR ENGINEERING COURSES:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Candidates should be an Indian National.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Candidates must have passed class 12th exam or HSC examination with subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics\/ Biotechnology\/ Biology\/Technical Vocational subject.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for reserved category candidates) must be obtained.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Obtained qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 1 (All India Candidature Candidates and also including Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong> FOR PHARMACY COURSES:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Candidate should be an Indian National.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Applicant must have completed class 12th with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics\/ Biology \/Biotechnology\/ Technical Vocational subject. For candidates of general category, the minimum percentage criterion is 45% and for reserved category, it is 40%.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> There is no age limit applicable to this course.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Admit card details:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After applying for the examination the admit card will be released in the month of April 2019. Candidates should have gone through all the details mentioned on the admit card and then download it by following the steps as mentioned:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Visit the official website of MH CET and click on \u2018admit card\u2019 link.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Enter the user id and password.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Click on the \u2018submit\u2019, your admit card will be displayed on the screen<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Take out multiple copies of MH CET 2019 Admit Card just in case for safety.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> MH CET 2019 Admit Card will contain the exam center and address allocated to every candidate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The admit card will also contain the date and time of the examination, check them thoroughly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Candidates will have to check the details mentioned in the admit card and report in case of any problems.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Features of MH CET:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MH CET 2019 exam consists of 3 sections where Paper I will comprise of Physics and Chemistry, Paper II will be consisting the subjects of Botany and Zoology while Paper III will have questions on Mathematics. Candidates who want to opt for an engineering course can attempt 150 questions, for health sciences, 200 questions can be attempted. Those appearing for Pharmacy courses can attempt 150 to 250 questions.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The exam will be computer based.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The questions will be Multiple Choice questions (MCQ) type.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The students opting engineering degree programs will have to appear and clear Paper I and Paper III.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The students opting health science degree and other courses will have to appear for Paper I and Paper II.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> No negative marking will be given for wrong answers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>MH CET Cut off:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to be eligible for admission to B.Tech programs offered by the institutes, candidates must score the required cut off score. The cut off score is released after every round of seat allotment by the DTE of Maharashtra. For determining MH CET Cutoff, the total number of seats available, number of candidates appeared in the exam and the level of difficulty of the exam are accounted for. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>MH CET 2019 Results:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To access the Result of MH CET the candidates will have to visit the official website of the DTE of Maharashtra. The results will be released before the first week of June 2019 in the form of a scorecard. The results obtained in the MH CET 2019 will be valid only for one year.
