The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) measures your ability to think critically. It checks as to how can you put your thoughts into words with the correct logic behind your possible notion.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will have to write an essay on the argument that is assigned to you in the Analytical Writing Assessment Section. You have to state a logical reason to that argument and why do you think that your reason could be the possible reason for the argument discussed. It is often neglected while preparing for GMAT however it comes with its own consequences of pulling your score down drastically due to negligence. Also, it is important for you to know that they do not ask for your views or counter views towards an argument. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are testing how well can you analyze a situation. It is a common issue that reading and reviewing of essays may become boring, uninteresting or tedious. But it has its own advantages so better late than never!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>TIPS OR HOW TO STUDY FOR THE AWA SECTION:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not change your opinions in the AWA Section. Just stick to one perspective and elaborate the reason without switching your opinions in between.\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most essential parts of the AWA Section is to clearly be able to analyze the situation. Give an appropriate reason for the argument. They do not judge your literature skills, but they judge how well can you analyse the reason behind a particular argument.\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a clear picture of the argument. You must know why the argument exists and\/or what are the possible reasons that the argument took place. You can also summarize it. Keep your essay as lucid as possible. You don\u2019t have to go on writing pages to expect good scores. You\u2019ll end up losing more marks. Keep it to a maximum of 3 to 5 paragraphs, not more.\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practice as many mock tests as possible. This will give you an edge in your preparation. There are the sites mentioned above which give you a demo test or a free practice test before you plan on purchasing the whole material. Make ample use of mock tests, questionnaires and such devised study material.\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Time management plays a pivotal role in THE AWA Section. You will only have 30 minutes for the essay. This will only come with practice. Keep practicing and timing your mock tests so that until your final examination, you can complete your AWA Section without any glitch.\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another important hack is to take about 5-10 minutes at the start of the AWA Section and just jot down the possible reasons and issues related to the argument.
